Welcome to the Mid West Amateur Radio Group [MWARG].
Our club, established in 2005, is based in the Mid West region of Western Australia, with Geraldton as the main regional centre. We have a small group of keen Amateur’s who participate in just about every single facet of the Amateur hobby, from CW to advanced digital modes, from HF right through to satellite, and to digital communications via the Internet.
Geraldton is the regional hub for the entire Mid West. The region is a rich farming and fishing area to the north and north east of Perth, covering 7.5 million hectares. It is characterised by near pristine beaches and offshore islands, coastal sandplain with considerable areas of retained natural vegetation, and a fertile low-rainfall hinterland.
Located about 450km north of the Capital, Perth, the city is perched near beautiful coastline to the west and rolling hills and breakaway ranges to the east. The Chapman and Greenough Rivers frame the city to the north and south.
To find out more about the club and it’s activities, please follow the various links on this website, or if you wish you can drop us a note using our online contacts form.
We look forward to hearing from you on air in the Mid West region soon.
